En route to San'a, Yemen, in Ethiopian airspace, the airplane sustained an engine problem. The pilots made an emergency landing but the plane crashed on approach to Addis Ababa International Airport. There were no passengers in the airplane. Both pilots were hospitalized.
The airplane came down in the Legedadi area, northeast of the Bole Airport at Addis Ababa.
